SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's basketball team (1-0) won its home opener for the 16th consecutive season, as it downed Texas Lutheran (0-0), 72-31, on Tuesday evening at Strahan Arena. Sophomore forward poured in a career best 18 points on nine-for-14 shooting and led a balanced scoring attack where seven players scored seven points or more.
Texas State's defense forced Texas Lutheran into 32 turnovers, the most in the last nine years.
