SAN MARCOS, Texas – After scoring a season-high 26 points in Texas State's regular season finale at Troy, senior Caleb Asberry was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 27, the conference office announced.
Asberry's 26-point effort, which was not only a personal-best for the season but a team-best, fueled Texas State's two-win week and helped extend its winning streak to nine games. The Bobcats also clinched their second consecutive Sun Belt regular season championship with a win at South Alabama last Wednesday, a game in which Asberry had nine points and six rebounds.
