SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Freshman Shelby Adams led five Texas State players in double figures with a career-high 17 points and the Bobcats beat Division III McMurry 100-50 on Wednesday night.
Adams was 5-of-7 shooting and added a career-best five steals. It was Texas State's highest-scoring game since a 103-76 win over Houston Baptist on Dec. 3, 2011.
McMurry's Darius Watts hit a 3-pointer 10 seconds in, but the War Hawks missed their next eight field-goal attempts as Texas State (5-4) scored the next 24 points. The Bobcats took a 28-point lead into the break and, after Immanuel King's layup to open the second half, led by at least 30.
