NEW YORK - Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish went through three innings of a simulated game to hitters Jurickson Profar and Ryan Rua on Wednesday and could begin a rehab assignment as early as next week.
Emphasis on "could."
"Today was very impressive, but today is not the big day," Rangers pitching coach Doug Brocail said, "tomorrow is."
If Darvish reports no soreness in his shoulder, the Rangers will then reconvene with him and discuss the possibility of moving into the game action of a rehab start. That would likely be on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
