With Delino DeShields out four weeks or longer, Rangers exploring additional depth for center field

OAKLAND, Calif. - Without Delino DeShields for at least the next four weeks and possibly six, the Rangers have started exploring the depth market for additional center field protection.

The Rangers are expected to give Drew Robinson, who started in center for the second consecutive day, and Rule 5 pick Carlos Tocci the majority of playing time for now. Ryan Rua, the team's regular left fielder, is also expected to get a look in center.

But the trio has only eight career combined center field starts including Monday's game at Oakland. The expected starter at Triple-A Round Rock, which begins its season Thursday, is Jose Cardona.
