At full health for the first time since May, the Rangers on Tuesday once again faced the reality of a mismatched roster that tilts heavy toward left-handed hitting corner outfielders.
And Willie Calhoun once again paid the price for that.
In order to activate Hunter Pence from the Injured List, the Rangers pulled Calhoun out of work in the batting cage, raved about the job he's done, then told him he was being sent to Triple-A Nashville.
"I'm speechless," Calhoun said, slumped back in his locker after a pep-talk from Shin-Soo Choo. "This caught me off guard, as well.
