Will Rangers have room for Scheppers in 'pen?

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The numbers suggest Tanner Scheppers has had a good spring to this point.

He has pitched in five Cactus League games and allowed one run on six hits over 6 1/3 innings. He has struck out four and has been healthy from the beginning.

"I think Spring Training is about building up and getting ready for the year," Scheppers said. "It's getting the body aligned for a long stretch. Things have been feeling good, so I'm definitely excited for the season."

The one red flag has been four walks. Manager Jeff Banister gets impatient with walks, especially from his relievers.
