ARLINGTON -- Last season, 78 guys pitched at least 150 innings in the majors and Lance Lynn's ERA was worse than all but 10 of them, so I don't want to make him out to be the savior or anything for the Rangers' rotation.
But, then again, he may just be worth way more than a single starting pitcher.
The Rangers on Tuesday announced that Lynn, who had a 4.77 ERA in 156.2 innings in 2018, signed a three-year contract worth $30 million, a deal they had actually agreed to a week ago. It takes time, though, to do physicals and complete insurance policies.
