CLEVELAND - If so moved, the Rangers could call prospect Willie Calhoun to the major leagues as early as Thursday and still preserve an extra year of control over him.
They are not so moved.
And, quite frankly, general manager Jon Daniels is a little hurt you would even ask.
Though the Rangers don’t have any plans to call up Calhoun at present, they don’t manipulate a player’s service time, Daniels said Tuesday. Emphatically.
“There has been zero discussion about it,” he said. “I’m not even aware of the date. And I’m really offended by those kinds of statements because they ignore facts.
