Wandy Rodriguez will start for the Texas Rangers Friday, according to Jared Sandler on Twitter. He will be replacing scheduled starter Ross Detwiler, who will apparently be moving to the bullpen.
Detwiler was acquired this offseason from the Nationals for Chris Bostick and Abel de Los Santos, with the plan being to have Detwiler be the fifth starter. He got a battlefield promotion to #3 starter with the injuries to Yu Darvish and Derek Holland, but has been awful in his three starts this year. Apparently, the Rangers have seen enough to decide he is better suited to the role of bullpen lefty.
