MINNEAPOLIS -- The Rangers will honor outfielder Vladimir Guerrero on Aug. 3-4, during their series with the Orioles. Guerrero is being inducted into the Hall of Fame on July 29.
Guerrero hit .300 with 29 home runs and 115 RBIs for the Rangers and led them to their first American League pennant. He won the Edgar Martinez Designated Hitter Award and the AL Comeback Player of the Year Award by the Sporting News.
Guerrero is the seventh to have played for the Rangers and been inducted into the Hall of Fame, along with Ivan Rodriguez, Nolan Ryan, Gaylord Perry, Bert Blyleven, Ferguson Jenkins and Rich Gossage.
