The sale of the New York Mets from the Wilpons to Steve Cohen was made official today. Cohen had previously indicated that Sandy Alderson would take over as team president once the sale was approved, and Alderson wasted no time in beginning the overhaul of the front office.
In his first day on the job, it has been announced today that Alderson has let go numerous members of the Mets front office, including general manager Brodie Van Wagenen, special assistant to the general manager Omar Minaya, and Vice President and assistant general manager Allard Baird.
