The Arizona Fall League All Star Game was last night, and a pair of Rangers prospects, Bubba Thompson and Cole Uvila, appeared for the West squad.
Uvila continued his run of excellence in the AFL, as he retired all three batters he faced, two via strikeout. The final strikeout was to Angels outfielder Jo Adell, a consensus top 10 prospect in all of baseball, on what was reportedly a 3300 rpm breaking ball (per Statcast). To put that in perspective, the highest average spin rate for a pitcher on his breaking ball in 2019 in the majors was 3305, for Ryan Pressley.
