Troy Tulowitzki has retired

New York Yankees infielder Troy Tulowitzki has announced his retirement. His full statement can be read here.

Tulowitzki, 34, was the 7th overall pick in the 2005 draft by the Colorado Rockies out of Cal State-Long Beach. He debuted in 2006 and had his first full season in the majors in 2007, when he finished 2nd in the National League Rookie of the Year balloting and 18th in the National League MVP voting.

From 2007-14, Tulowitzki was consistently a 5-7 win player, except in 2008 and 2012, when he dealt with injuries and, in each season, had a bWAR below 1.
