ARLINGTON -- Of all the deals Jon Daniels could conjure up in the coming weeks, from finding a market for Cole Hamels to a contender for Adrian Beltre, only one matters to the Rangers now. The cost would be astronomical, and it probably wouldn't bring much in return.
But it'd free Willie, so it's got that going for it.
Basically, out goes Shin-Soo Choo.
Up comes Willie Calhoun.
All it takes is finding someone willing to take, oh, $40 million or so from the Rangers to offset the $50 million left on Choo's contract. Works for me, anyway, but apparently charity doesn't go as far as it used to.
