Chris Seise, the Texas Rangers former first round pick and a shortstop with Hickory this year, will miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL, it was announced today. Seise left Wednesday night’s game with what appeared at the time to be a minor knee issue, as he walked off the field under his own power. He will undergo surgery next week.
Seise, 22, was the 29th overall pick in the 2017 draft, and has been seen as someone with star potential. However, he missed all of 2018 due to shoulder surgery, most of 2019 due to a torn labrum suffered sliding, and now will miss the remainder of 2021.
