Tim Beckham has been suspended for 80 games for testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance enhancing substance, MLB announced today. Beckham, 29, is slashing .237/.293/.461 this season in 328 plate appearances while playing the infield and left field for the Mariners.
Beckham, who was the #1 overall pick in the 2008 draft by the Tampa Bay Rays, has carved out a career as a role player in the majors. He was traded by Tampa to the Orioles for Tobias Myers at the trade deadline in 2017, and was non-tendered by the Orioles after the 2018 season.
