Thoughts on a 5-2 Rangers loss

Red Sox 5, Rangers 2

  • Well dang it.
  • Its just one game, and its a game against a pretty good team that was running a pretty good pitcher out there, and it isn’t like the Rangers were blown out or embarrassed themselves or anything.
  • Still, losing on Opening Day is no fun.
  • Nathan Eovaldi was quite good today. Eovaldi had a Quality Start, striking out nine, walking no one, and generating an impressive 17 swings and misses on 87 pitches. 10 of the whiffs came on his curveball, and another five on his splitter, which he used less than usual (probably because his curve was so effective).
