HOUSTON - If there was a theme to the Rangers' winter workings, it was to fill out a strong starting rotation behind a pair of aces at the top. The idea: Create a dynamic and deep rotation that could carry the team into the playoffs with a core that would give them an edge in any round of the postseason.
It made perfect sense.
Um, one question: Anybody have any other ideas?
What became clear Wednesday, exactly one month into the season, is that the Rangers might never get their planned five-man rotation to start five consecutive games for them this season.
