We are around a month away from season’s end, so it is a good time to take a look at the Texas Rangers’ 40 man roster situation, and the decisions they will need to make in that regard this offseason.
The Rangers’ 40 man roster is currently full, and there are four players on the 60 day injured list, which means there are 44 players in all to deal with right now.
Of that group, we have 8 free agents:
Max Scherzer
Andrew Heaney
Jose Leclerc
Kirby Yates
Carson Kelly
Robbie Grossman
Travis Jankowski
Jose Urena
There’s also Nathan Eovaldi, who is likely to have a player option for 2025 vest, though he will almost certainly decline the option if it does vest, and David Robertson, who has a mutual option for 2025, and mutual options almost never get picked up.
