The 3,000-hit club has its 31st member. Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre reached the milestone with his 4th-inning double off of Wade Miley Sunday.
Winding road to 3,000
Adrian Beltre’s road to 3,000 hits hardly seemed a given following the 2009 season. Beltre had just finished a 5-year, $64 million contract with the Mariners and in 2009, he hit .265 with eight home runs, his fewest of any season where he played at least 100 games. He ended his time with the Mariners having hit over .270 just once in his five years with the club.
