Texas Rangers general manager Chris Young is, as we all know, technically a free agent upon the completion of the 2024 MLB season — the day after the 2024 World Series ends, as of now, he would no longer be part of the Texas Rangers’ organization, and could go join any team, organization, or whathaveyou that he wants.
Given that the Texas Rangers won the 2023 World Series, I have assumed that this is a non-issue, and that Young will be extended at some point between now and the end of October, though I admit I have thought it a bit odd that it hasn’t been resolved yet.
