The BELTRE*: Andrew Cashner's velocity was down, Jose Bautista's bat was flipped

* Briefly Explaining Lotsa Texas Rangers Events (B.E.L.T.R.E) from Wednesday night:

Andrew Cashner's fastball velocity was down last night

Even as he was going deeper into a game than he has all year, Andrew Cashner's fastball velocity averaged 90.6 mph, according to Brooks-Baseball, which would make it the slowest fastball of his career. Also, according to the website, he didn't throw any four-seam fastballs, which I suspect, will be adjusted after Brooks-Baseball recalibrates its numbers (as it does regularly). I think the drop in four-seam velocity was so significant that the automated system was simply confusing it with the slower two-seamer.
