Currently multiple pitchers are battling for the last few spots in the Texas Rangers rotation. Veteran right-handed pitcher Dillon Gee could be the pitcher to take over in Cashner’s absence. The team signed Gee to a minor-league deal over the off-season.
Gee most recently pitched with the Kansas City Royals in 2016. He went 8-9 4.68 ERA in 33 games (14 starts) in KC. Gee was forced to miss the end of last season with an injury, but looks healthy this spring.
In Spring Training Gee has been impressive through his first two outings.
