Texas Rangers fans can rejoice as relief pitcher Sam Dyson has been traded to the San Francisco Giants. The team sent Dyson and cash to the Giants for a player to be named later. They wasted little time finding a replacement as they’ve signed veteran Ernesto Frieri.
The 31-year-old Frieri recently opt out of his contract with the New York Yankees. He pitched in 17 games in Triple-A, posting a 3.00 ERA with seven saves and 24 strikeouts. His solid work in the minors should gain him a spot in Arlington soon.
