Started out a smooth-sailing afternoon, but finished a hard-fought game for the Texas Rangers. In the first inning, Texas jumped to a 3-0 lead, making it 6-0 in the second, and 7-0 in the fourth. In the fourth, New York all of a sudden cut Texas’ lead to 7-4, eventually making it 7-6 in in the seventh. Texas found a way to prevent New York from inflicting further damage and they came out on top.
Nick Martinez took the mound. He pitched 5.0 innings, allowing six hits, four runs, and striking out three batters, improving to 2-3. He’s on a two-game winning streak for the first time since 2015.
