Left-hander Taylor Hearn got his big league career off to a rough start after getting making his debut on Thursday. The Royse City native recorded just a single out in his first start surrendering 3 hits, 5 runs and 4 walks on 39 total pitches. It was a debut to forget for the #11 prospect in the Texas Rangers organization.
Shortly after his debut though, Hearn hit the Injured List and had an MRI on his pitching elbow that revealed inflammation. The good news is that Hearn won’t have to undergo surgery and avoided major damage but this injury does mean he’ll be out of commission for the better part of the next month.
