Texas Rangers’ Tanner Scheppers Out Until After All-Star Break

According to MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan, Texas Ranger reliever, Tanner Scheppers, tore cartilage in his left knee and is to return to Texas to have surgery. Expectations are for this injury to keep Scheppers out until at least after the All-Star break. GM Jon Daniels is quoted as saying that “He [Scheppers] can’t think of a moment that he tweaked it.”

Scheppers was limited last season as well with a bone bruise in his left knee. The belief is that these two injuries are unrelated and Scheppers had his knee examined in last September and there was no issue then.
