The 32-year-old outfielder Drew Stubbs is back with the Texas Rangers. He signed a minor-league deal with the organization and will report to Triple-A Round Rock. The former 1st round pick is familiar with the Rangers organization.
During his career Stubbs has spent parts of two seasons with the Rangers in 2015 and ’16. He only played 46 games total, but the organization feels that Stubbs has something to offer the team.
The San Francisco Giants recently cut Stubbs after he hit .091 with two hits in 10 games. He struggled, but the it’s such a small sample size it’s difficult to even count that against him.
