The Texas Rangers have signed pitchers Ricardo Rodriguez, Chris Nunn and David Carpenter to minor league deals, the team announced today. All three will be in the minor league camp.
Rodriguez is the most noteworthy of the trio. The 26 year old righty missed all of 2016 after undergoing Tommy John surgery, then rocketed through the system in 2017, ultimately reaching the majors. Rodriguez spent most of 2018 in the minors, though he had four appearances in July in the majors. Rodriguez didn’t pitch at all after early August, and the team announced he underwent shoulder surgery in December.
