Texas Rangers: Rougned Odor Signs Six-Year Extension

FanRag’s Jon Heyman broke the news earlier this morning. According to Heyman, Odor and the Rangers have been in talks for a extension for quite some time and Odor was looking for a contract similar to Cleveland’s Jason Kipnis. And now, it’s finally worked out

Odor, 23, dominated last season, registering 164 hits, including 33 doubles, scoring 89 runs, recording 88 RBIs, blasting 33 homers, stealing 14 bases, and batting .271. All those numbers are career-highs. Since making his debut in 2014, Odor has put up amazing statistical numbers and has been playing great baseball. Of course, no one will forget the incident between Texas and Toronto last May when Jose Bautista dangerously slid into Odor during a double-play, resulting Odor shoving and punching Bautista right in the face, igniting a massive brawl between two sides.
