The Texas Rangers are retiring Adrian Beltre’s uniform number in a pre-game ceremony before the team’s game at home against the Oakland A’s on Saturday, June 8, 2019, the team has announced today. The ceremony will be at 7:35 p.m., and the game will start at 8:05 p.m.
Beltre announced his retirement earlier in the offseason, and is a near-lock to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he’s eligible to be on the ballot in five years. Beltre spent eight years with the Rangers, in 2011-18, during which he cemented his legacy as one of the greatest third basemen ever to play the game.
