The Texas Rangers have announced that lefthanded pitcher Brian Flynn has been released and is a free agent. John Blake’s tweet announcing the move indicated that he had been granted free agency, which would seem to suggest that the release was granted at Flynn’s request so he can pursue a roster spot with another team.
Flynn is a 30 year old lefthanded pitcher who was traded to the Miami Marlins in 2012 in the Anibal Sanchez trade, and then acquired by the Kansas City Royals after the 2014 season.
