Texas Rangers transactions: Brandon Mann, lefthanded pitcher, has been added to the 40 man roster for the final three games of the season in Seattle, the team announced today. Mann, 34, is a native of Tacoma, Washington, and made his major league debut earlier this year for the Rangers, appearing in 6 games and posting a 6.14 ERA.
I’m not clear whether the move is just to get an extra arm up to fortify the pen for the final few games, to give Mann the opportunity to pitch in front of his hometown people this weekend, because the Rangers intend to keep him on the 40 man roster this offseason, or some combination of the above.
