The Texas Rangers and free agent pitcher Seung Hwan Oh reportedly agreed to a one year deal with a team option, pending a physical, last week. Per the beat guys on Twitter, however, the deal between the Rangers and Oh is off, apparently due to a physical issue.
Oh, 35, spent the last two years with the St. Louis Cardinals, having pitcher in the Japanese League and the KBO prior to that. Oh was expected to be the Rangers’ closer, had a deal been consummated.
With no deal for Oh, the Rangers will, I assume, go back to looking at other free agent pitchers to help fortify the bullpen, and potentially the rotation.
