It’s been a busy day for the Texas Rangers organization as general manager Jon Daniels headed to Japan to scout two-way star Shohei Ohtani.
Currently Ohtani is part of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Japan. This is a trip similar to the one that Daniels took in 2011 and led to the Rangers signing star pitcher Yu Darvish. Could we see another Japanese star joining the Rangers organization?
Ohtani is currently on the disabled list, but Daniels and assistant general manager Josh Boyd and scouts Joe Furukawa and Hajime Watabe were able to watch Ohtani work out.
