The final day of the MLB Draft was one week ago today, and the Texas Rangers have signed a few draft picks, as well as some undrafted free agents.
The highest Rangers draft pick to have signed is righthanded pitcher David Hagaman, out of the University of West Virginia. The redshirt sophomore reliever had elbow surgery — per Jamey Newberg, it was elbow brace surgery — this spring, ending his 2024 season, both college and pro. He would seemingly be ready to start the 2025 season, however. Hagaman received a $515,000 signing bonus, just under the $530,400 slot value for the pick.
