Jayce Tingler, current Texas Rangers major league player development field coordinator and a candidate for the Rangers’ managerial job last offseason that ultimately went to Chris Woodward, has been named as the manager for Leones del Escogido of the Dominican Winter League, it has been announced.
This job will reportedly not interfere with his duties with the Rangers, and gives Tingler an opportunity to manage in a highly competitive environment — the Dominican Winter League includes both quality minor league prospects and major league veterans, and is considered one of the best quality winter leagues out there.
