The Texas Rangers on Saturday announced that the club has placed infielder Hanser Alberto on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain and purchased the contract of catcher Carlos Perez from Triple-A Round Rock. To make room for Perez on the 40-man roster, the team has also recalled right-handed pitcher Nick Gardewine and placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a right forearm strain.
Alberto, 25, was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday for his third major league stint this season and went 0-for-1 as a pinch-hitter in last night's game against the Giants.
