Leody Taveras and Eli White will be on the Texas Rangers Opening Day roster, per the beats. Delino DeShields, who is in camp on a minor league deal, has been informed that he will not make the team.
Taveras and White spent the spring vying for the center field job, with White having an impressive camp for the second year in a row, while Taveras overcome some early struggles at the plate. Taveras would appear to be slated to be the starter in center, while White will have fourth outfielder duties. White also has played the infield in the past, and got a start at first base recently, with Chris Woodward saying he wanted to look at White as a possible backup at first base as well.
