The Rangers have put reliever Tanner Scheppers on the disabled list, and have called up Phil Klein to replace him
The Texas Rangers have put reliever Tanner Scheppers on the disabled list with left knee inflammation, according to John Blake on Twitter. Replacing him on the 25 man roster is reliever Phil Klein.
Scheppers has been the team's primary eighth inning reliever this year, but has had a difficult campaign, with this being his second d.l. stint of the year, as well as having been optioned earlier in the year. Scheppers allowed three hits last night when he came into the game in relief of Cole Hamels and didn't retire anyone, allowing a 7-4 Rangers lead to turn into a 7-7 tie.
