The Rangers have signed right hander Kohei Arihara from the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters to a two year deal worth about $6 million.
While Arihara is no Yu Darvish, he has pitched a boatload of innings the past two years in Japan and the Rangers are sorely in need of someone who can eat innings.
The Rangers and Arihara share a similar mindset in wanting to get better in 2021.
The last time the Rangers got an innings eater from Japan they got Colby Lewis, and that turned out pretty well.
