Sources: Colon, Rangers talking Minors deal

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers are in discussions with free agent pitcher Bartolo Colon on a Minor League contract according to MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez.

According to Sanchez, there is momentum toward a deal that would bring Colon to Spring Training as starting pitching depth for the Rangers. Their current rotation stands to be Cole Hamels, Martin Perez, Doug Fister, Matt Moore and Mike Minor. The Rangers also intend to give Matt Bush a chance to start.

Colon, 44, who won an American League Cy Young Award with the Angels in 2005, was 7-14 with a 6.
