The Cubs have a deal in place to acquire Rangers left-hander Cole Hamels, according to MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi, "pending exchange of medical information."
In his 13th big league season, Hamels has gone 5-9 with a 4.72 ERA in 20 starts. He is making $23.5 million this season and the club holds a $20 million option for next year with a $6 million buyout.
