The Washington Nationals and pitcher Mike Soroka have agreed to terms on a one year, $9 million deal, per reports.
This is a little more movement in the marginal pitcher market. Soroka looked like he was going to be a star back in 2019, when he put up a 2.68 ERA in 174 innings over 29 starts for the Atlanta Braves. He suffered a torn Achilles in his third start in 2020, and missed all of 2021 and 2022 as a result. He put up a 6.40 ERA in 32 innings over 6 starts and a relief appearance for the Braves in 2023, then was sent to the ChiSox last offseason when Atlanta offloaded five miscellaneous guys in exchange for Aaron Bummer.
