Texas Rangers infielder Josh Smith left Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox in the second inning. Smith, who started at third base in place of Josh Jung, who is dealing with a neck issue, was replaced by Ezequiel Duran.

Smith was pursuing a foul pop down the third base line in the top of the first, ultimately hitting the side wall and ricocheting off a post. The trainer came out and after a delay he stayed in the game, but ended up being lifted for Duran in the bottom of the first, with Duran pinch hitting for Smith.
