The streak is over.
After two months of consistency, Shin-Soo Choo failed to extend his on-base streak Satruday night against the Cleveland Indians.
Despite the fact he was removed for a pinch-runner in the eighth inning of the 16-3 loss, he reached base via a fielder's choice which does not count toward the streak. Choo finished the night 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
Choo extended his on-base streak to 52 games Friday with a first inning single through the right side against Cleveland's Trevor Bauer, becoming the longest streak in the majors since the Los Angeles Angels Orlando Cabrera reached in 63 straight in 2006.
