ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Rangers' sagging early-game offense could get a boost Tuesday from the return of leadoff man Shin-Soo Choo.
Choo, who has dealt with a sore lower back for much of the last two weeks, said Monday he was good enough to play for the first time since the All-Star break. Manager Jeff Banister resisted temptation and gave him another day off.
The Rangers, who entered the Angels series with a 22-run edge over opponents (60-38) in the first inning, have hit a recent drought since Choo has dealt with the back issue.
