OAKLAND, Calif. - Texas Rangers manager Jeff Banister has seen enough of Shawn Tolleson as the closer.
Banister on Wednesday morning made a change at the position. He removed Tolleson, who leads the majors in blown saves with four, and installed Sam Dyson as the new closer.
Dyson began play with four career regular-season saves. He has been a trusted set-up reliever since joining the club last summer and closed out a win in the opener of the American League Division Series last season.
"It's a decision we needed to make," Banister said. "We'll move forward.
