Texas Rangers relief pitcher Shawn Kelley was lifted from today’s game against the Houston Astros without throwing a pitch. Kelley was brought into the game with one on and two out in the bottom of the 8th inning in relief of Chris Martin, with Texas down 5-2, but was pulled during his warmup tosses with an apparent injury. There’s no indication at this point as to the reason for him leaving.
With the only 2019 MLB trade deadline just ten days away, Kelley is someone whose name has been mentioned as a possible trade candidate; however, if Kelley is hurt, that would seem to put an end to the possibility of him being dealt.
